i take it ur talking bout engine stabilisers if so, as u look in the engine bay, on the left side of the engine where the head is there is a hole for the bolt, the other bit bolts on the bulkhead, hope this helps

Engine steady bulkhead bracket brocken off.
I noticed the bracket on the bulkhead holding the engine steady to the block has somehow sheared at the bottom gradually lostening the bolt, in turn creating slack on the choke/accelerator causing the revs to drop thus the engine cutting out.
What is the best thing for me to do? Weld the bracket back up or is there a repair for it?
Another quick question, my headlights have suddenly become very dull and orange, since i replaced the steering column it seems. Any ideas on the situation?
Last one, my windscreen wipers are terrible. Lack of power and sometimes can barely handle wiping, it got so bad and frustrating that i had to resort to removing one. Any more powerful motors out there?
Cheers

Engine steady bulkhead bracket brocken off
You'll have to weld the bracket back on. Not sure why it should affect your accelerator and choke though!
Your windscreen wipers will almost certainly need to be be removed completely, then you can strip down the tube and spindle boxes and re-lubricate them - that should be all it needs.

Mini Rad C-ARA4442
That's a beautiful engine bay you've got there! Is that a little inline fuel filter sitting on top of the rad bracket?

Engine stabaliser mount
the actual mount has sheared from the bulkhead, its underneath the brake/clutch mount, the engine steady gets bolted between the brake/clutch mount and the bracket where the clutch pipe is bolted to; which is the engine stabaliser mount, this is the bracket that has sheared off the bulkhead

clearence
I fitted a new cone filter recently and found when i put my foot down it would knock the bulkhead. I found the problem was that my lower stabilizer bracket had snapped, causing the engine to shift. I ordered and fitted a new bracket, also renewed the bushes in the top bracket. Problem solved! Im not sure if the engine would move so much to cause your clearence problems, but its worth a look.

Hmm
Well, ive just found out that when I replaced the bushes, we tightened all the bolts as tight as possible on the front and back of the engine brackets, and the knocking remains. Ill take a look at my exhaust brackets tomorrow. Ill keep you posted, but if I dont find anything else, what else do you think it could possibly be?

pump
not necessarily! You can put it in the engine bay. If you are lucky there is even a mounting bracket to the right side on the bulkhead, just to the left of the bonnet hinge. A lot of the autograss boys mount theirs here and works for me too!!!

engine onto mount
Engine mounts are: left hand side (as you look at the engine from the front of the car) bolted direct to the clutch cover, right hand side bolted to a bracket on the side of the engine by the pulley.

Fitting a new speedomoeter cable - engine side
i usually if i have forgotten to fit it when dropping in the engine, remove the bracket that holds the end of the cable, think its 3/8; or 7/16th something like that, attach the cable to this then refit the end back on the block.

Part of my car fell off!!!
There ARE only two engine mounts on a mini, and they are most certainly needed, so which ones are you talking about? Is it actually the top stabliser(s) (sometimes called the steady bracket) you're referring to?

Engine steady bar - 998 Mini 1989
It's probably tight because the engine/steady bracket is still putting force against it, so try and push the engine back if you can or remove the bolt from the block first.

Electrical Problems
try removing the earth strap that is mounted on the engine stabelizer, clean with sand paper under the head of the nuts and bolts/ both sides of the washers and the earth strap eyelets, and where the strap locates body and engine stabelizer bracket, clean the threads with a cloth, also do the battery earth strap in the boot.

Radiator replacement: Any hints for getting the bolts in tight places
Do you mean the little bolts that hold the metal shroud to the radiator frame? Normally, I take the radiator out with the shroud attached. You have to take the fan off first, obviously, but then it's just a case of removing the top bracket, and undoing the bottom mounting bolt (which fixes the bottom of the shroud to the engine mounting) and lifting it out. Reverse the process (as the manual always says!) to refit it.
